What’s happening in local government

The National Parking Newsletter was generated by the Hobart City Council after the first Parking and Traffic Workshop hosted by Hobart in 1996. One of the key issues identified was that those officers performing a regulatory role around the nation, could learn from each other’s experiences. As a consequence, Hobart City Council undertook the editorial rights and the National Newsletter (Making a Space) was developed. Hobart City Council have now handed over the editorial reins to Adelaide City Council which have produced the latest edition of the National Newsletter. It has remained the underlying source of communication for Parking and Traffic Regulation Groups since its conception. It has grown form an initial distribution list of 12 to a current total of in excess of 50. This newsletter now includes a large number of New Zealand Councils.
