  1. In Cairns we do not have any time limit on any of the mobility/disable parking signs.Just wondering if any other council does the same.

  2. Years ago City of Melbourne used to have open disabled parking areas ( NO TIME LIMITS); first in best dressed. With the increase in the number of people being issued with disabled permits it is now necessary to stipulate time limits on all disabled parking areas, particularly in the CBD. 1/2 Hour and 1 Hour, being the most common. In these areas the permit holder is not entitled to double the time either.

As in Melbourne, the Adelaide City Council 'disabled' bays were open slather, but due to the rapid increase in the number of permit holders these have nearly all been changed to a variety of time limits from 1/2 hour through to 4 hr, with a few still being unresticted.
